If someone is in the slot, 2LT or CPT, the position is filled.

That may be true but a LT filling a KD CPT position when there are Captains that need those jobs is poor management. Since JRTC we have received two CPTs and they are both in S6 jobs. They were also both KD complete when they were assigned here instead of going to their original assignments in the G6.

Exact same thing happened to me. Although I will say this assignment has opened up doors and given me opportunities I wouldn't have had if I didn't suck it up and make the best of it.

I'm nearing the end of my time here at SCCC so I thought I would add a couple of things that have changed recently.

Multi-Branch StaffEx:
A couple of of times a year when the stars align classes may conduct the multi-branch staffex for their capstone. This is a combined effort between Fort Gordon, Fort Benning, Fort, Sill, Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Jackson, and Fort Hauchuca. It's two weeks instead of one and conducted over CPOF. During this time you will fill the role of as a Battalion S6 for the DATE scenario. Like the rest of CCC, you will get what you put into it, and for some people in my class this was frustrating because they were essentially marginalized and left out of planning. So as the S6 it is up to you to fight for your seat at the table.

Branch Technical Comprehensive Exam:
Instead of taking an exam after each block of instruction you will now take one comprehensive exam a week or so before graduation. The SGLs will give you a study guide a few days before the exam. Keep all your handouts from all the courses, because most of the questions will come directly from there or from doctrine. Unlike the Common Core Exam this test is mostly multiple choice, with 5 fill in the blank, and 2-3 essay questions.

I was picked up for FA24 on the last VTIP panel. I am slated to pcs to the SCCC this spring with a follow on to the TSEC course.

My question is that I am only on wait status for the CCC at this point. Does anyone know if I should push to get hard slotted in ATTRS or if I shouldn't worry about it as I am only, going to the SCCC for 10 weeks? My concern is being stuck as a hold over, for over two months once I arrive at Gordon.
IMHO, I would keep pressing for hard dates especially because of the follow-on school. I would also ask if you have to go on to the levelers course before attending SCCC or are you already a 25A?

Why would you only need to do 10 of the 13 weeks?

It's 10 weeks now. The 53/24s only have to complete common core.

Which should mean even less time in the course if the total course is 10 weeks.

For those who do not know Common Core are the courses taught in all the CCC programs.

All of SCCC should be around 19-20 weeks if I remember correctly.

Different subject, same topic...

Any suggestions on places to live during SCCC? I've heard mixed reviews of different locations, so I'm interested to see what y'all have for feedback.

Anyone attending the SCCC this October (16-001) and looking to be roommates? I'm leaving my family in the Savannah area during school so I'm looking to rent a room or share a residence during SCCC.

Btw, this is a great sticky!
